The powerful vape detector, the HALO Smart Sensor, provides real-time notifications sent as emails. However, it is possible to access each device and to download a log of events that have occurred in the last 48 hours.
Unlike similar vape detectors, the HALO does not require a subscription, which means you do not have to commit to ongoing costs. If you only have a few devices and decide not to take out a subscription to HALO cloud the Event Data Log will provide you with the readings from the HALO’s sensors.
The data from the log can be exported into a spreadsheet so you can spot issues and trouble shoot if you need to. This video shows how to log into the HALO and export the data.
If you have a large number of HALOs then you will find subscribing to HALO cloud is beneficial. This will provide you with a dashboard where you can manage multiple devices, receive real-time information as well as see alerts and historical data.
As well as launching the latest model of the vape detector, the HALO Smart Sensor 3C, its manufacturer, IPVideo, now owned by Motorola Solutions, also introduced an enhanced cloud platform and mobile app and this allows users to receive push notifications.
Within the dashboard the HALO Cloud provides:

- Device Health
- Health Index and air quality alerts and reporting
- Analytics
- Reports
- Maintenance
This will provide a more detailed history of events and you can ensure the devices are being as effective as they can be.
Remember, although the devices recalibrate themselves on a regular basis to remain accurate, to ensure the reliability of the HALO Smart Sensor keeping them clean is important. If you do not keep the device clean users may see a growing number of false alerts due to contamination which will waste time and become frustrating.
