We answer the call for Easter egg donations

Easter Egg DonationEaster Egg Donation

We are always keen to support the local community and when there was a shout out for donations of Easter eggs to support families in need we answered the call.

The Droitwich Community Pantry & Fridge, part of the Worcester Homeless Appeal charity, puts together around 150 food parcels for families and individuals every week, to ensure they do not go without meals.

With Easter approaching they wanted to have at least 100 Easter eggs to give out to children whose families receive food parcels from the Droitwich Community Pantry on the 27 March. To support the appeal we have donated 80 eggs which were collected by volunteer, Kay Ramsden. Other generous individuals and organisations are helping Kay and other volunteers to reach their donations target.

Nicky Ayers, sales and marketing manager, is a friend of Kay’s. She said: “We really wanted to support this charity that does essential work to support families in and around Droitwich. We do not want children to go without Easter Eggs.”

Managing Director Aaron Kernaghan, said: “Hopefully we can help put a smile on some children’s faces over Easter.”

He added that he really admires people who dedicate their time to help those less fortunate and didn’t hesitate to help when the opportunity came along.

The Worcestershire Homeless Appeal works in Worcester and Malvern to provide meals to homeless and vulnerable people while the Droitwich Community Pantry & Fridge focuses on supporting children and their families who are need in the town and surrounding area with the weekly food parcels.

The charity was originally set up in 2015 and continued its work in 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic when thousands of meals were provided across Worcestershire. In March 2021 the Worcestershire Homeless Appeal was awarded the High Sheriff of Worcestershire award in recognition of its great and valuable services to the community.

The Worcestershire Homeless Appeal is always looking for volunteers who can help in their area and for donations to support their vital work. You can find out more by going to their website: https://www.worcestershirehomelessappeal.org/
