The aim of the Project Engineer role is to provide an efficient, professional and comprehensive service, installation and commissioning for a wide variety of Intruder Alarm panels and CCTV systems in domestic, commercial and industrial properties. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this role will be field based and will cover The Midlands and surrounding areas.

Main Activities

  • Attending customer sites according to scheduled appointments
  • Installing small and large Intruder Alarm, Access Control and CCTV systems.
  • Providing detailed onsite analysis of actual and potential system issues and communicating these clearly to the customer as required.
  • Proposing and explaining work undertaken and identified requirements for additional works to the customer.
  • Identifying opportunities for system additions by seeking to understand additional customer requirements.
  • Ensuring that the customer is happy with the work undertaken and that the site is left in a clean and tidy state.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years working in the Security industry
  • ECS/CSCS Card with a minimum of basic Health & Safety knowledge
  • Emergency First Aid at Work certificate
  • Awareness of British Standards for installation & maintenance
  • Solid working knowledge of Honeywell Galaxy and Texecom
  • Good communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to work out of normal hours
  • Full driving licence – this position will require travel to customer sites
  • Able to competently troubleshoot all types of systems
  • Able to think on your feet and to remain calm under pressure
  • Personable and equally able to work as part of a team or unsupervised where necessary
  • Keen to maintain extremely high standards of workmanship and a professional image at all times
  • Customer service focused

Duties

Installation and maintenance of:

  • Intruder Alarm System
  • CCTV (IP and analogue)
  • Access Control Systems
  • Other Emergency systems
  • Stand-by duty after normal working hours, according to rota
  • Responsibility for own and company tools and equipment
  • Assisting management in the control of stock levels
  • Ensuring that a product will work and perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Keeping up to date with developments in technologies and regulations; Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training, toolbox talks and more
  • Contribution to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

We are seeking a highly organised and creative Technical Documentation Coordinator to transform the way our technical drawings and project documentation are produced, presented, and managed.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for modernising our handover documentation, creating professional templates, ensuring consistency across all
technical materials, and maintaining oversight of project documentation and open support cases. The successful candidate will help us stand out in the market through high-quality, clear, and visually engaging technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation & Design

• Refresh and modernise company technical handover documentation.
• Create branded, professional document templates for drawings, reports, proposals, and project packs.
• Improve layout, clarity, and presentation of technical materials to enhance client experience.
• Ensure all completed projects include accurate, complete, and properly formatted documentation.
• Standardise documentation structure across the business.

Client-Facing Documentation Enhancement

• Create high-quality, branded client handover packs.
• Develop executive summary formats for non-technical stakeholders.
• Create quick-start guides and simplified system overviews.
• Improve readability and reduce technical ambiguity in client documentation.
• Ensure all documentation reflects company professionalism and attention to detail.

Technical Drawings

• Assist in producing and updating technical drawings.
• Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and aligned with company standards.

Knowledge Base Development

• Build and maintain an internal knowledge base of technical processes and documentation.
• Document repeat processes and lessons learned from completed projects.
• Convert engineering knowledge into reusable guides and structured documentation.

Bid & Pre-Sales Support

• Create polished diagrams and supporting documentation for bids.
• Maintain a structured library of reusable technical content.
• Ensure consistency and quality across commercial documentation.

Project Handover & Quality Control

• Audit project files to ensure all required documentation is complete prior to handover.
• Liaise with engineers and project managers to collect missing information.

Digital Content & Media Creation

• Assist in creating knowledge based videos for our Social Media and Youtube channels.
• Assist in producing how-to and instructional videos to support customer onboarding and product understanding.
• Edit and prepare digital media for use across company websites, social media, and marketing campaigns.
• Work with internal teams to translate technical information into engaging visual content.

Skills & Experience

Essential:
• Experience producing technical documentation and/or drawings.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to create professional templates (e.g., Word, InDesign, CAD, Visio, or similar tools).
• Confident communicator able to work with technical teams.
• PDF editing.

Desirable:
• Experience creating video content using tools such as Camtasia.
• Familiarity with visual design tools such as Canva.
