Avigilon has launched the latest upgrade to its Avigilon Control Center software – ACC 7.10 – adding the analytical features necessary for the Avigilon H4 Thermal Elevated Temperature (ETD) solution as well as extra security features to improve the integrity of your CCTV system.
The ETD solution comprises the Avigilon H4 security-grade thermal camera, embedded with edge-based analytics to detect faces and notify operators of elevated skin temperature, coupled with a blackbody uniform temperature source, providing a low friction, contactless alternative to traditional screening methods. The blackbody device acts as an absolute temperature reference point for the thermal camera.
ACC 7.10 can be configured to show temperature overlays on a face detected by the camera in live and recorded video. These overlays are configurable to have an elevated, expected and low temperature state. Analytic rules can be created for each of these states which allow a user to trigger events and alarms.
When the thermal camera detects an individual’s skin temperature to be higher than a set threshold, the individual can be sidelined for additional screening with a secondary approved method, such as using a thermometer and enlisting a medical professional opinion.
The ETD solution forms part of a range of advancements that Avigilon has developed to help businesses and other organisations tackle the challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Other recent upgrades of ACC 7 have provided solutions for occupancy counting of buildings as well as enforcing rules on social distancing and the wearing of face coverings. Additionally, body-worn cameras can be integrated with the software and can support staff enforcing COVID-19 guidelines so they feel safer dealing with the public.
Avigilon has also developed video encryption technology so that the communication between ACC Server and ACC Client can now be encrypted for both live and recorded video. Encryption can be enabled per site or can be easily enabled for all sites.
Additionally, the ACC Server can be restricted to only connect to cameras that present a trusted certificate. This requires customers to import a Trusted Certificate Authority (CA) to ACC Server’s trusted certificate storage and install trusted certificates to their cameras. These last two features add to the security of the system which is important to ensure you are protecting the privacy of anyone that is captured by the video footage.
