No subscription required to receive superior detection
While there are an increasing number of vape detectors being promoted, particularly to schools, we are always keen to ensure that people understand the differences that make the HALO Smart Sensor stand out. Not needing a subscription is important as it means you do not have to commit to ongoing costs.
If you have multiple devices, it could be worth investing in a subscription for HALO Cloud, as this will give you an online dashboard. This allows users to see all the notifications from the devices in one place, and means you can see historical data, but this is your choice.
When you buy a HALO from us, we will set up the smart sensor for you including ensuring the latest firmware is up to date and that all your requirements for detection are set up correctly. Once the device is plugged into the POE cable it will be immediately ready to send email alerts to staff but will take 24 hours for the sensors to self-calibrate and ensure full accuracy in its detection.
Signing up for ongoing support could help
After the first year we recommend that you sign up for continuing support from us to ensure that we can keep your firmware updated. This also means we can still easily replace devices as the HALO 2C has a two-year warranty. The HALO 3C, which will be replacing 2C in the forthcoming months, has a five-year warranty. However, this is a decision you can make yourself, based on added benefits you might want to take advantage of, or to ensure that you are covered if there are any problems with the HALO in the future.
Another great advantage of the HALO is that it is an open API device meaning it is easy to connect to other software. It can also integrate with other security systems like CCTV, including Avigilon Unity Video. The notifications from the HALO can then be received within these third-party systems. We offer a range of security and monitoring solutions but where we can we aim to integrate these to give you a better user experience.
Reliable Vape and THC detection and much more
If you choose the HALO, you will obtain a smart sensor that uses a dynamic vape detection algorithm to automatically learn the environment and alert when vaping is detected. The HALO is also the only product that can alert and differentiate between vaping, vaping with THC, and intentionally masking vaping behaviour, by using aerosols to cover up vaping.
Additional features of the HALO that schools find beneficial are:
- Detection of abnormal noise levels which could help schools tackle anti-social behaviour
- Detecting calls for help by coming preloaded with five spoken keyword phrases so schools can act more quickly in emergency situations
- A Tamper Alert, detecting when students are interfering with the device so it can continue to function properly
