If you have CCTV and are looking to benefit from the advanced analytical and search features of Avigilon Control Center, its  video management software the recently-launched Avigilon Artificial Intelligence (AI) Network Video Recorder (NVR) could transform your system.

Ecl-ips is excited about this solution because it is really cost-effective as, in what is a first for Avigilon, this advanced server brings analytical features to non-analytical cameras as long as they are ONVIF* compliant. Additionally, it also brings the analytical and recording features together in a single piece of hardware for the first time saving space in IT racks.

In practical terms it means those managing school or shopping centres could quickly deploy their CCTV systems more intelligently by using the analytical features developed to meet the challenges posed by COVID-19 – face mask detection and occupancy counting. Find out more from our Chief Engineer, Stephen Gilbert, talking to Nicky Ayers in this video.

The developments also mean you will be able to quickly locate a specific person or vehicle of interest across an entire site. You can initiate a search for a person by selecting certain specific physical descriptions, including clothing colour and gender, to find a person of interest. Avigilon’s next generation video analytics also provides enhanced performance in crowded spaces with the ability to classify more than 50 objects with improved accuracy.

So if you spot a person with a red jumper and blue jeans acting suspiciously on your property instead of searching through hours of footage you need only to search on these key features and you will soon find where and when they appear.

The AI NVR can be remotely managed with Avigilon Cloud Services (ACS). Avigilon has also developed enhanced security for the appliance. It runs a signed and encrypted operating system on a solid-state drive, offering a secure end-to-end system when used with Avigilon devices.  Additionally, the AI NVR, cameras and clients can all be remotely upgraded together with a single signed and encrypted firmware package delivered remotely.

Ecl-ips, would be delighted to discuss this cost-effective high-performance NVR with you. Don’t forget that we are available to talk online about your CCTV or other security needs at a time to suit you. *The Open Network Video Interface forum (ONVIF), aims to standardise how IP products within the video surveillance industry communicate with each other. If you are buying a new camera always make sure it is ONVIF compliant as it will ensure that it can be used with third-party devices and that your cameras can be used for longer even if you upgrade your system at a later date.
