UK-based access control system manufacturer, Paxton, has upgraded its flagship Net2 access control software and added an Occupancy Management feature which could help mititgate risks associated with Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Occupancy Management feature forms part of the latest version of the software, Net2 v6.04, which was launched last month to help organisations ensure they can offer COVID-secure workplaces. It has been specifically developed to support social distancing and reduce the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus. The feature allows an organisation to quickly and easily manage the flow of people around a building and to control the maximum number of people in any given area.
Additionally, the Net2 v6.04 upgrade included improvements to allow installers to integrate the system with thermal scanners more easily. This follows some organisations considering the use of thermal imaging as part of their solution for opening up businesses by detecting staff or visitors that may have raised temperatures and require health screening. Systems available to do this include the Avigilon Thermal Elevated Temperature Detection Solution which Ecl-ips can also offer.
Meanwhile in the Net2.v6.03 upgrade launched in May Paxton added functionality which made remote monitoring of sites safer and more effective than ever. Sites can be easily managed via an internet browser or the smartphone app minimising the need for regular site visits.
